YEAH!!

WOO!!!! All the working out I've been doing has been paying off!!!!!

So, I got home from work tonight and walked over to the dog pen to say hi to my girls like I do every night (my girls aka my huskies Ella and Suka). Well.....they were gone..My cousin Brandon and I went out in our cars and started driving around looking for them. I decided to go and look on this pathway that I usually take them for walks on and what do ya know? There they were next to Kendrick Mansion (which is next to the path). Ella, being the sweet little attention seeker that she is, automatically ran to me as soon as she saw me, so, I was able to get her into my car. Suka, on the other hand, knew what was comin to her and wasn't about to let her moment of freedom get shortened, and she BOLTED! lol. Soooo.....here there I was chasing her around at full speed for about half a flippin mile, through people's yards mind you, when finally, she got tired and slowed down to a trot and I was able to get my last ounce of energy and sprint up to her and latch onto her collar lol.......Just so you know, for the past week I've been diligently going to the gym each night and bumping up my workouts so that I can push myself harder...These past few nights I've been running 5-6 miles on the treadmill to get my heart rate up....Welllll I owe the fact that I was able to keep up with Suka and eventually catch her to the fact that I've been working out!!! YAY FOR EXERCISE!! I know without a doubt that I wouldn't have been able to get her otherwise lol. So, I will most definitely continue going to the gym from now on!!!! haha......I brought the girls home and stuck them back in their pen....gave them a good talkin to and told them they were stuck in doggy prison for being bad......how lame am I?! lol

Mine and Ryan's little escape artists: Suka and Ella (licking the water off her nose)

A Few Things I've Learned in the Past 19 Years...

*to embrace the fact that I will never be taller that 5 feet 3 inches.
*that even when I feel all alone in the world, God is always with me.
*to not sweat the petty stuff and not pet the sweaty stuff (haha).
*to appreciate the little things in life.
*that sometimes people will tell you they love you without actually knowing the true meaning of the word.
*that family comes first. no exceptions.
*to keep all my promises.
*that modest is hottest!
*that it doesn't matter how mean people are to me, or how poorly I'm treated , I can never stoop down to that level and must show love, kindess, and respect to everyone.
*it's ok to have a bad day once in a while, but it's never ok take my frustrations out on my loved ones.
*hugs really do make everything better.

........and more to come!

Fit For a Princess

So, once again I'm getting REALLY bad about writing on this thing on a regular basis. Sorry! I'll try harder lol...

Anyway, this week has been a nice one.
Sunday- Spent time with my family in Newcastle....drove back in a bad storm, but, it was ok.
Monday- Got a TOTALLY amazing email from Ryan, not because it was mushy or whatever, but, because it was freaking funny! Oooh that boy lol. I'm glad that even though we're thousands of miles away with no communication other than emailing, and we haven't seen each other in almost 14 months, that we're still extremely close and can make each other laugh. Ha. I love it, and I love him!
Tuesday- My friend Katie's 19th birthday. Went out with her and a few other girls and ate at Sanford's (yum) and played around town taking pictures with random statues. Fun! :P
Wednesday - Got to meet up with my personal trainer again and go over the results of my assessment. Well, I'm in pretty dang good shape supposedly, BUT, I need to lose a little weight. Yes, some people may say "psh" and roll their eyes at this statement, but, someone who is only 5'2 1/2" (yup there IS a 1/2 in there, she even said it lol) shouldn't weigh as much as I do unless it's muscle. Haha. So, I aim to lose 10 pounds and then I'll be the PERFECT size. lol...anyway....I totally LOOOOVE the program the personal trainer has set up for me and I am so excited to start it on Monday!
Today - Went to Enrichment tonight at the church for Relief Society and we had our own little manicure/pedicure night and it was SOOO relaxing, like my title says, it was "Fit for a princess". We got to take home our manicure tubs along with these cute little manicure/pedicure bags with all sorts of goodies inside. :D

I'm hoping tomorrow will be a great day, but, I'm WAAAAY excited for Saturday because it's our ward (erm, branch lol) Temple trip and I just can't wait!!! I freaking LOVE the temple and I'm stoked to be able to go and spend time with my branch. Even though they're pretty much all newlywed couples, they're awesome to hang out with, and what makes it even better is that like over half of these couples are ones where the wives waited for their husbands while they were on their missions...so, being with them gives me THAT much more hope for Ryan and I (even though I'm not worried about us not working out :P).....

Whelp, I'd better go read my scriptures now! I'm working on the 3 week challenge Ryan set for me....This challenge is to read The Book of Mormon in just 3 weeks!! I aim to be done exactly on General Conference Sunday (October 4) so, wish me luck!

A Walk in the Park

Just wanted to post some pics of the walk my 8 year cousin Kaitlin and I took this afternoon with mine and Ryan's puppy Ella. =)

Promptly Follow the Promptings of the Holy Spirit...

The title of this blog post is what Elder Randy Funk of the Quorum of the Seventy said today during our stake conference. Man, how important is that?! I'd say VERY important. Just listening to the still small voice can keep us out of a lot of sticky situations. It can keep us safe in times of trouble. It can even prompt us to do things that are great for us and our future and that we may not have done otherwise had we not been listening. Honestly, I haven't always followed the promptings of the Spirit, but, I can testify that when I HAVE, good things have always come from it. Heck, if I hadn't listened to the Spirit in the summer of 2008, I never would have started the amazing relationship I have with my special guy. And hey, waiting for a missionary was NOT something I ever saw myself doing, in fact, I was EXTREMELY against it since I was about 13 years old and witnessed my eldest sister get her heart broken after waiting faithfully and patiently for the whole 2 years for her then missionary to return. In fact, I was dating someone once who asked me if I would wait for him when he went on a mission and even though I cared a lot about him I said no, because I never wanted to wait for a missionary. Needless to say, our relationship slowly fizzled out. But anyway, my point is..LISTEN TO THE SPIRIT!!!! Lol. It doesn't even have to be about big things like that. Even just listening to promptings that may tell you someone is having a hard time, and that you need to call them or get ahold of them in some way is an amazing thing to do.

Well, enough of my little sermon for the day....I'm just so grateful for this gospel and want to try my hardest every single day to be worthy of the blessings I recieve. :)

Dance Dance

Soooooo last night I went to a dance with my friend Katie at Sheridan College and I must say that people make me so mad sometimes!!!! We were enjoying our time dancing and goofing off and having a lot of fun when all of a sudden I look behind me and there is this stupid boy recording us withthe camera on his cell phone and he and his girlfriend were laughing!!! I stopped dancing and just stood there watching them and so I poked Katie (she was still dancing) and told her what was going on. As soon as I did this the guy shut his phone really quick and looked away like he hadn't been doing anything and then he and his girlfriend started laughing again. GRRRRRR!!!! Katie's roommate knows the guy I guess and so she went and asked him what the heck he was doing and he said "I wasn't really recording, I was just acting like it". Who in the world "pretends" to record people they don't even know?!!!!! I know he wasn't joking and I wish I would have just gone up to him myself and told him to knock it off, but, being the nonconfrontational person that I am I just blew it off....But, that TOTALLY ruined mine and Katie's entire night, we just felt really weird after that and dancing felt awkard to us. So, we left and hung out in her dorm room the rest of the night....STUPID PEOPLE!!!! Argh. I wish people wouldn't be so dumb, lol. Everyone should just mind their own business and let everyone else enjoy themselves! Just because we were goofing off while we were dancing (and probably looking like retards) doesn't mean anyone else has the right to record us...ew. I felt violated haha....Oh well, such is life these days it seems....sad.

Katie and I

So we're a little crazy...
